Clutch Actuator

I'm re-assembling my 1929 engine/tranny now. Putting the clutch

together has left me puzzled.

The piece I call the throw out actuator (pushed forward to release the

clutch via the forks)has a tapered pipe plug (item 19) that looks like

it should use the tranny keyway to prevent rotation. I know the

actuator forks also prevent rotation, but I suspect I should have a

5/16" brass pin or something below the tapered plug. My plug has

nothing under it, not does my spare tranny.

My manual seems to show the tapered plug going right into the keyway,

but with the pieces I have here that will never happen, I can't thread

it in that far. Am I missing something?

On a related topic my pistons/bores seem to be to far gone to salvage,

I'm going to buy 3-9/16" bore Hudson 232 c.i. pistons and fit them.
