29 Hudson Oil Circuit

I am trying to figure out how my 29 Hudson lubrication works. I got

me engine in pieces, and I'm confused about the copper lubrication

lines.

It looks like the oil is drawn from a (5/16"?) suction line that

goes into the block and through a large tube in the oil collector

pan. There is no filter on this line, it simply sucks from the

bottom (beside the float switch).

The pump pressure line (1/4"?) runs down the side of the head and

then must tee off into the dash pressure gauge and also to somewhere

on the head to lubricate the top end. (Not sure quite how this part

works).

Oil then flows down through the head and into the lower collector

where the dippers fling it up. When the lower collector is full oil

then runs into the oil pan through the screen filter.

There also appears to be oil drippers in the top of the valve cover

that I think would be manually filled to drop oil into the push-rod

pivots.

1. Is this basically right?

2. Is there a drawing of all this (it is not in the manual that I

have)?

3. Anyone have a picture of the oil pressure lines on the top end of

the engine?
