1927 Hudson (Early F-Head Engine) Water Jacket
Hi All,
After removing the head, we are in the process of cleaning the intake
valves and head. We had planned on removing and examining the exhaust
valves next.
In looking down at the top end where the pistons are held, I saw two
round holes about 1" in diameter spaced approximately one foot from
each other.
When we first took the head off, one hole was almost full of rusted
debris. The second hole was completely closed off and upon scrapping
the hole, the debris came out.
Quesiton:
1. Are these two 1" holes suppose to be freeze plugs or? (Or are
they just closed off water jacket holes that help cool the head.)
Thank you,
Rick.
