Oil Dipper Tray ?

I removed my oil pan and dipper tray to clean and now reinstall it. Is there a way to fill the dipper tray after I reinstall it or do I have to before I reinstall it ? Just looking for a easy way laying on my back under the car to get it all back up there without dumping a bunch of oil in my face. Thanks Ron
