Re: [HSS] Vapor Lock Fix ?

It matters not what type of fitting goes into the bottom of the carb, but

what is important is that you don't over-tighten this fitting or you run the

risk of cracking the bottom of the float bowl. I made up a straight

threaded tube which I screwed into the bottom of the inlet and secured in

place with a fibre washer and lock nut, and then adapted the fuel pipe

fittings on to this, so that there is no danger of breaking the float bowl.

The problem is that it is a tapered fitting, and to get it fuel-tight it

has to be tightened up into the internal thread of the float bowl. Too

much, and ping! It's then all over Rover!

Geoff.

Subject: [HSS] Vapor Lock Fix ?

I am having a vapor lock problem from vacuum tank to carb. Has anyone used a

wrap of sometype to wrap the fuel line that helps from vapor lock ? Also was

wondering if I use a straight in fitting to the Marvel carb. instead of "L"

to get the fuel line lower and further away from the heat riser pipe from

the exhaust to the intake madifold or is the "L" fitting needed for the fuel

flow to the carb.? Thanks Ron
