Re: [HSS] Speedometer repair ?

Ron, the speedo head has probably bound up in the main spindle. These are

die-cast, and it will need to be dismantled, honed out and lubricated with

anti-sieze. It is snot a job for amateurs usually. There should be plenty

of instrument repairers stateside., who normaslly have cables as well. I

spoke to my brother on Sunday, and he has so far bored out the fan hub

housing to fit the bearings, and now has to machine the sleeve, so

hopefully - - - Good luck,

Geoff.

Subject: [HSS] Speedometer repair ?

Well I made it to and from the western reginal meet with no problems except

my speedometer froze up and twisted off the cable end just outside the

speedometer. I removed the cable from the speedometer and ran the car and it

turns fine. Anyone know of a replacement cable and a good place for

speedometer repair ? PS I did run out of gas in front of the hotel this

morning and had to walk about a 1/2 mile for gas..LOL. I will check that

more often from now on. Thanks Ron
