Oh dear what have I done? Actually Ron, I wouldn't worry too much as the
vaseline will probably be reasonably effective. Most people just put the
felt seals in dry, or put a little oil on them, and the oil eventually
seeps right through the felt and forms a harder surface on the contact area.
It is not a critical area. I have never seen a kajor leak out the timing
cover even when the felt seal has been in rather dilapidated state.
