Ignition help

Hey guys,

I finally got the steering column back into my 25. It was a bit of a

puzzle, and I still have to work out the horn button, but I can deal

with that later.

I have the spark advance and fast throttle connected now. I recently

went through some effort to re-build the fuel system. Now, I'm

trying to get it running smoothly / consistently.

I pull the choke out on the dash, and can get it started, but it

doesn't run smoothly. 2 things I notice: First, when I push the

choke back in, it dies. I need to check to see if I have a vacuum

leak somewhere that might be causing this.

Secondly, no matter where I put the spark advance, it doesn't seem

to want to idle smoothly. I have to keep the fast idle up, and just

can't seem to get it to run.

I've changed the spark plugs, but I'm thinking I may need to change

the coil or condensor / points. Nothing in the distributor looks

like it's that worn, but I can't think of what else it might be.

Compression, maybe? Any other thoughts?

What kind of testing can I do to rule out options so that I'm not

replacing a bunch of parts that do not need to be replaced?

Any help would be appreciated.
