I had a similar problem with my '26. The motor has a '29 Distributor mounted on it and just wouldn't run sweetly. It was hard starting and lacked power. Geoff puzzled over this some time checking timing, vacuum leaks and other things. Finally he noticed that the points were wrong. After filing the rubbing block down to size, the car started easily and runs happily.
