Starting A 1929 Hudson Or ?
Back when I got my 29 Hudson and first got her running after about 11 years of sitting I would choke her to death with gas all over and her flooded. Since I got her on the road again I have been reading ways that people here and other sites have started there old cars. Now when she is cold (Southern Californaia) I pull the choke to full let her turn over a coupe of times and push the choke in. Fires right up. When she has been run no choke at all and she fires right up. When I drive her around and stop for a little bit its like a guessing game, choke or not to choke is the question but for me and I try no choke first and if no fire I pull it out for a second. The old guy I bought my 29 from said that it smoked alot and he parked her for 11 years when I took her home. I put ATF in the cylinders just incase I had a siezing problem because I was told ATF had alot of detergent for breaking down carbon and it worked I guess. When I first got her fired up it smoked like hell, oil among other things in the cylinders. It cleared up and since then no smoke and runs great. Fixing some oil leakes at the moment but doing good clearing them up with some great help here. Good luck and think of it as a hobby, I do, Ron
