Re: [HSS] Starting A 1929 Hudson Or ?

You are pretty well on the button Ron. My '29's have always been the same -

retard the spark, open the hand throttle a whisker, full choke for a couple

of winds, push the choke in half way, and it fires straight away. Advance

the spark, leave the choke out about half for while until it warms up, push

in, and then forget about it for the rest of the day's motoring. Leaving the

choke out partly when cold leaves the fast-idle port open. Push it right in

once you get under way, or leave it out if it tends to spit back at you.

Certainly, never wind the motor over for long with the choke right out, as

this sucks vast amounts of fuel into the engine.

Geoff.
