Re: [HSS] 27-29 Carbs

The '27 and '28 carbs and hot box can be interchanged directly to a '29, but

the carb will face the opposite way. You cannot bolt them directly to a '29

hot box without making up an adapter plate, as the bolt patterns are

different, and the early carbs don't have the fast-idle bypass. You can

use an earlier float bowl, but the high speed needle is on the inside, so

you have to make up a link to operate it from the inside of the throttle

shaft, which means disconnecting the compensating mechanism for the exhaust

bypass flapper.
