Re: [HSS] Starter gear problem

Is the collar in front of the sliding gear locked into the shaft? I have

just had a '28 Hudson with a similar problem, and the collar was floating,

therefore the gear was not moving . There is a short bolt screws in to the

collar, with an extension going into the shaft to lock it in place.

Otherwise it could be the gears meeting point-to-point causing it to lock

up.
