Re: [HSS] Speaking Of Running Boards ???

I used heavy staircase aluminium moulding on my '29 Hudsons. It is heavier

than the standard right-angle moulding, and slightly rounded contour on the

outside edge, and polishes up like chrome on a buff. For the running

boards themshelve, any good sheet-metal worker can fold up a pair of these.

Or alternatilvely, you anc make them up yourself out of 19mm marine ply.

Okay, I know this is not rogiinal, but they are easy to kake up, dpn;t

require spacers for mounting, and will never rot. and nobody, and I mean

nobody, ever looked underneath and shouted HEY, YOU'VE GOT MARINE PLY

RUNNING BOARDS! I just folded up brackets to mount them to the front

fender angle, and used carriage bolts set into the ply to screw them to the

chassis brackets, and filled in over the heads, and glued the rubber to the

ply.
