Re: [HSS] Question for Geoff

Hi Geoff

I have a question concerning the oil slinger that
is outboard of the timing chain on the nose of the crankshaft on my 23 H.
The slinger is keyed to the shaft and has 2 washers, also keyed of two different
thicknesses.  The question is does the flange of the slinger face back to
the timing gear or forward to the timing cover.  Where do the thick and
thin washers go?  The literature I have showing all the parts is for the
earlier, gear driven camshafts so is not much help in this department.  It
is almost 40 years since I pulled this motor apart so memory is not much help
either.

Perhaps someone has an illustrated parts list for
the 23-26 cars.  Alex??

Also, my pulley is cracked and bent and I am not
having much luck locating a replacement.  Will the harmonic damper pulley
from a 29 fit?  I know this uses a v belt and is not correct but it would
get me going in the short term.

Thanks

Karl
