#4 connecting rod bearing takes hike
Hi gang. Headed out to tour and went about 20 miles when 16 6-40
started thumping. Parked at resturant and rode with others, had AAA
bring it home, dropped pan and bottom bearing insert #4 was gone, Did
not leave a forwarding address. Pulled #6 and it looked great so I'm on
the hunt for connecting rod bearings for a 16 6-40. The dealer wouldn't
answer phone, maybe because it was Sunday? Any thoughts and or someone
have a set in thier back pocket? I guess it's time to do rings and
valves too. I love to just make it work this season, then do complete
job this winter. I'd hoped to drag it to the National. I hear they are
promoting the older cars. The inserts are held in with 2 brass screws.
I'll see if I can figure out how to post pictures Thanks Jerre
