Re: Oil level indicator
I am missing the float and indicator for the oil
level sight glasson my 23. Does anyone have one out that
they could measure. I would like to know the approximate size of the float
(is it shellacked cork?) and the length of the rod to the indicator
button.

Also the books tell you to fill the troughs before
installing the oil pan. From experience with my 29 this is anexcellent way
to get a face full of oil while trying to get the suction pipe fed through its
hole to the strainer. Would it not work just as well to pour a quart or so
of oil along the tappet gallery?
