27 headlights
Upon inspection I find that my headlights have been converted to sealed
beams by cutting out the light socket and adding a homemade bracket to
secure the sealed beam within what seems to be the 27 bullet housing.
Practical perhaps but not entirely appealing to those of us who have
chosen to deal with these old things to begin with. The spec sheet for
this vehicle indicates a 9" Spreadlight lens. When I measure between
the lens clips I find that I have 7 3/4" with 6 7/8" of lens exposed
from the front. Any ideas as to what these headlights are? They have a
countersunk screw at the rear that appears to have secured the light
socket or reflector. The trim ring is held on with a tab at top and a
screw through the ring at the bottom. Even if there were notches at the
clips a 9" would not fit in these. Any info appreciated.
