Re: [HSS] 29 is running again

I had given my 29, which I had had and driven daily
for  25 years to my son for his 25th birthday.  He came home from the
hospital in it after he was born in New Zealand.  Paul is now 40 and the
car had been sitting in a shed for the last 8 years as he was working away from
home.  We decided last night that enough is enough and it was time to get
it running again.  We drained out the old gas, cleaned the
points
image, squirted some oil into the cylinders and
eventually it started but ran horribly.  I soon traced this to a stuck
exhaust valve.  We worked it back and forth with a vice grip on the stem
and WD40 through the plug hole and it soon ran as sweetly as it has for the last
620,000 miles.  Some air in the tires as he drove it out of the shed into
the sunshine.  Good to see and hear it again.  I bought the car
near New Plymouth, New Zealand when I was 20 and am now 62.  Now on to the
23.
