Answers to a lot of questions regarding 1929 Hudson Town Sedan
Hi AAron
Will try to assist re questions of Forum so all can see.
Question 2, Proper Spark Plug wires are avaible from Dave Kostansek
and his ads are in the WTN, he has Black and also yellow wires, ask
which are proper for a 1929
Question 3. I would suggest not removing the water pump at this time
the radiator , front cover and timing chain need to be removed, its a
big job. I suggest backing the nuts off the shaft as much as possible
and cleaining the rust off the shaft and putting teflon seals on shaft
then see how much it leaks, use water in engine as antifreeze is messy
and cover the paint to keep coolant off of it. If leaks too much then
contact Warren Bachtel who was at tech session re removal and seals
Question 4. After removing all choke, accelerator linkages, then
remove two bolts holding the carb onto the Heat Tube. There is no
connection between the heat tube lever and linkage to the carb.
Probably the carb is stuck to the heat tube, spray with penetrating oil
and tap lightly with a light hammer and screw driver where the carb and
Heat tube join. Easy go old parts. The carb should sepearate and there
is a copper gasket which can be reused.
Question 5, Use goggles, put a lot of newspapers on the floor, and try
engine degreaser spray and a parts cleaning brush to clean up.
Some carb spray will help too. Use a air nozzel to blow out debris
and remember its all flamible and not to use a shop light with bulb
use a sealed Floresent.
Send me a email ( my address on my card) will work on other items
