Bad Day
Well I got the head of my 29 and yep there was just a little water in
the cylinder. Upon further inspection there was a small pin size hole
in the side of the cylinder that went right through into the water
jacket. Not a very happy moment. So the next step is getting the
cylinder block off the crankcase and having a machine shop measure to
see that I don't have other cylinders with thin walls.
As a back up plan, does anyone know of an old block laying around that
could be purchased? I realize that I might have the same issues with
another one, but I am not sure that sleeving a number of cylinders is
as good as finding an original to either clean up and use or bore out.
Anyone else had to put a sleeve in their F-head?
