The American Way???
McMaster Carr, as they are unobtainable here in New Zealand. I
thought members of the group may be interested in their response. the emails
start from the bottom, with the final one at the top. Whatever happened
to customer Service? As there are several of our members here require
these screws, whiich are used on the trim fittings on twenties Essex and
Hudson, is there anyone who can help me out by purchasing these items on my
behalf, and then forwarding them on to me? best wishes to
all,

Hi
Geoff,
We are concerned with
our products' final destinations so, unfortunately, we will not be able to
accept your orders even if you ask us to ship them to a domestic address.
Please accept our apologies.
Best
Regards,
Neal

Okay, can I obtain the order from
you and get you to consign to an American
address?
Geoff.

Geoff,
I am afraid
that we do not have distributors or agents and that, as a result, we cannot
recommend an alternate source. You may be able to find
other American companies that sell similar items, however, by searching the
supplier directory at www.thomasnet.com.
Again, we apologize for
the inconvenience this causes you.
Best Regards,
Neal

I'm extremely
disappointed that you will not send me the products ordered, as to the best of
my knowledge there are no dealers in
New Zealand who can supply these
items. Do you have any representative here or in
Australia who I can order them
from? I have ordered items from you in the past without any
problems. Seems like a Catch-22 situation, I can't get stuff from
you because I am not a "long established customer", and I cannot become a
"long-established customer" unless I can buy stuff from
you.Geoff

Thank you for sending us this
order. Due to the
ever-increasing complexity of U.S. Export regulations, McMaster-Carr
has decided to only accept orders from a few, long-established customers of
ours overseas. We cannot accept your order, and regret any
inconvenience this causes
you.
Best
Regards,
Neal
