Shuddering in Reverse
Hullo one and all,
I need some technical advice for my 1939 Humber Pullman. I know it's not a Hudson but - as I've found in the past with queries about my Hudson Super Six - this is the most helpful and knowledgeable group I know. The problem with my Humber is as follows: it shakes like hell whenever reverse gear is engaged, especially as it takes up the drive. The shaking stops as soon as the clutch pedal is fully released, and there is no juddering in any of the forward gears. The car has old-fashioned leaf springs, of course, and it's been suggested to me that it has a bad case of TRAMPING. Could this be the reason for the juddering in reverse? I'd be glad of any comments
Regards
