Re: Super Six flathead cylinder

Hi Pablo

I had a look at my cylinder head. It appears to be useable but it is the

low compression type which is most common. It will fit but you will not

have the same performance. Are you sure your head cannot be repaired? I

could not see where it was cracked from the photos you sent.

There was a collection of early Hudson cars for sale in Argentina a few

months ago. Perhaps whoever has, or bought those cars has spare parts. All

the cars were partly restored and had orange primer paint. I can try to

find more information for you if you want.

I would give my left testicle (cajone) to have your car-no, I would give

both!!

I see from your history (Google reverso translation) that your family has

had the car for a long time. I like the patch where the connecting rod went

through the crankcase. It is interesting part of the cars history.

I had always wanted to visit Argentina. Now I really do.

You should contact HudsonSuperSix16-29@yahoogroups.com. This is a forum

specializing in the older Hudsons and is full of helpful, well informed

folks from all over the world.

If you are unable to get the correct compression head let me know and I will

get this one sent off to you but I really think you can do better

Kind regards

Karl

Hi Pablo

I love that car!!! Would like to know more about it. How about some photos

of the engine on bothe sides? I have a spare cylinder head and think it is

ok but should have it tested to make sure. These heads should be readily

available because they will interchange from 1916 to 1926.

My home email is karlh@shaw.ca

Hello, you may have the best luck on the Hudson 1916/29 forum. If you

google that it will come up with the correct address. They are a good bunch

of people and very helpful. If you have no luck finding the site get back

to me and I will give you the exact address. I have a cylinder head for a

1926 which will probably fit but will not have the holes for the priming

cups.
