1929 Hudson grill paint scheme

I just wanted to reopen the question on painting the shell on the

29. I found some pictures to stir thoughts.

This is a pic out of an Automobile Quarterly product that had a Dual

Cowl Phaeton

This is what my Hudson looked like when I found it.

This is the grill on a 29 Vic on ebay right now.

I am assuming that the first two pics show the correct paint scheme

and that the Vic was painted wrong. Or was it? Did different body

companies paint the grill differently?

BTW, as far as progress goes on my 29, I am at a dead stop. I found

the block is corroded through in the valve space right by the valve

guides for Cylinder #1. A local block place wants $600 to weld the

cast iron and frankly that is not in my budget right now. Looking

into other types of fixes, epoxy? Drilling and sealing with a

plate? Hole is about the size of half a hot dog. Will try and post

pictures later. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
