Stupidist thing I have ever done!

I had replaced the leaking headgasket and changed the oil on my 1952

Hudson Hornet. After some driving it was time to retorque the cylinder

head bolts. I took off the air cleaners and loosened all the

headbolts thinking I would then retorque them in order.

Suddenly POP! WHOOSH! and coolant was flowing out everywhere.

As all the headbolts were loose the coolant in the head dumped into

the cylinders and into the pan as well as outside the engine.

Hey I was only a teenager, I didn't yet know the headbolts should be

loosened and tightened one at a time.

I took most of the afternoon to clean the mess and change oil and

replace the headgasket.

Also in this era I tried for a week to fit a exhaust pipe and could

not make it fit ,untill I finally turned it end to end, and it then fit

fine

Hey on that others helped and could not figure that one out too!
