Beware of this man
Hello all,
This thread has been posted to the H8 group also and may have more
relevance there, however, you may run across this individual.
I hesitate to start this thread but for the good of anyone who might
have dealings with Howard Musolf III, Seattle, WA, please beware!
He is the president of the local Horseless Carriage Club in the
northwest.
Howard is restoring a 1931 H8 boattail speedster that his father
purchesed many years ago. He has had ads looking for parts and may
contact people who are selling '31 Hudson parts. I furnished him
with a front welled fender and a headlight stantion in trade (his
idea) for carb heat riser, water pump, bumper medallions and window
handles. My parts were shipped very early this year, (trade was made
December 2007) at my expense, approx $400 worth with shipping and to
this date nothing but promises have arrived from Musolf. He now
refuses to answer phone calls, or emails.
To my chagrin, I told a friend about 1930 parts Howard wanted to sell
as a lot. They made a deal, my friend paid over $2000 for the lot
and received about 3/4 of the promised items and he also has not
gotten any thing but promises from Howard about the remaining
items. Another friend had rare items taken off his bench when
Howard and his associate visited him. So in all, we have been robbed
of over $1000 in parts.
We all thought old car hobbyists were honorable and have never had a
problem before, but are now poorer and wiser. If you know Howard or
ever are contacted by him, BEWARE!!
Have a good day!
