Couple questions on 1917s

On page 29 of John Conde's book it mentions that "Buyers of chauffeur-

driven models like this (1916 Hudson) limousine-landaulet chose from

India blue, dark Brunswick green, light beige or light Orriford lake

in determining the body color." Were these colors available on other

cars? I have been trying to find out what colors the 1917s were

painted and the paint scheme. It looks like a couple years before,

they were painting the skirt, fenders, hood and radiator shell black

but the bodies blue. Does anyone know when they started painting the

hoods the same as the body? If I want to paint my Touring like it

was originally, would the entire body be blue and the fenders and

skirts black? Any chance some one has a chip for the original blue

that Hudson used. The "Hudson Blue" on my 29 is a fairly dark blue.

Also in looking for rims I stumbled across Universal Vintage Tire out

of PA. Here is the e-mail I received back. Rims are a bit pricey,

but if you can't find originals, they are better than nothing:

E-mail from Universal Vintage Tire:

Our records indicate the 17 Hudson did indeed use a 26" tire. The

original tire was a 35x4 1/2 which fits a 26" rim. The closest fit

we would have for you is one of our 26" plain split rims. They cost

$225.00 including the latch which will need to be welded into place.

You can view the rim at the following link:

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Mike
