1929 Hudson Generator/cut out

I recently have had the misfortune to burn out not one but two perfectly good generators due to a faulty cut out that first overcharged (points stuck closed) and then didn't charge at all (points stuck open). So my question is has anyone had any experience with funprojects.com (John Regan) and the voltage regulator he fabricates into the cut out box that mounts on top of the Autolite GAB 4008/4001 generator? Secondly, does anyone have a recommendation on generator rebuilders who can rewind field coils and armatures at a reasonable cost? Thanks in advance.
