1921 hudson
Hi folks, I lucked out and discovered a 1921 hudson that had been restored about 30 years ago, in a garage. It's a speedster phaeton that appears to be in pretty good shape. I don't think the car has ever been in bad shape as it has the original muffler and running board covers. it has new (30 year new) leather interior and good paint job. I have been trying to get it ready to start, with help from Dave K. and Dave Bean, and expect to try in a week or so. My last adventure happened when I opened the water pump and found that the impelor had disolved ito a lump of mud. Mid West auto of grand rapids is helping me with that. I need to drop my oil pan one more time to be sure the oil line to the pump is tight and in the right place, install a new coil and I should be about ready to try. I spent about two weeks just removing greeze fittings, putting in modern greeze and replacing the caps. If it does start, I have no way of knowing how the clutch is going to act. I have removed two electric fuel pumps and hope to reley on the vacum system. I sealed the gas tank, made a new gas line and made sure everything is clean around the vacum tank. I have found agreat deal of information on the station, and I attended the show in Pontiac and joined both the state and national HET. Wish me well. wayne
