1916 questions

Hello all, I joined this group recently after acquiring a "modified" 1916 (or so I'm told) Hudson. The frame and chassis appear to be original and unmolested. However, the body has been cut- the rear passenger section has been removed and replaced with a pick-up bed. Based on the body lines, I think the car was originally a phaeton. The power- train is missing; the rear end under it doesn't look original, I think it is a late 30's Ford but I'm not sure.

I'm interested in replacing the rear passenger section, if such parts can be found within my budget, and restoring the car cosmetically as much as possible. I will most likely install a 50's-60's vintage Chevy 235 6 cylinder engine and 3 speed transmission as a power-train (mostly because I already own them and they will be unseen under the hood). Anyway, I could use any input you can throw my way.

Here are a just a few of my questions:

1. Is there a source for replacement wood parts for the 'cab' area? My car has extensive rotting in the wood although it is all still there and I might be able to recreate pieces by using the old pieces as patterns.

2. Can anyone tell me where to locate the i.d. numbers on the body and/or chassis, or if such numbers were used?

3. Can anyone tell me how I can obtain a title for this vehicle? When I purchased it, it came only with a bill of sale. I know the two previous owners who owned it for a combined 25 years so I know that there is no title paperwork available.

4. Are there any Hudson experts in the greater Seattle area that could possibly help with questions, advice, or knowledge?

I'm sorry about the long post, I hope that everyone will be understanding to my plight and help this newbie out.
