Gap in Front Cover (Over Timing Chain/Sprockets) of the Engine on 19
Greetings,
I have a 1929 Essex Super Six and I would greatly appreciate your assistance with a question I have on the front cover of the engine, which covers the timing chain and sprockets. On the very top of the cover there are a couple of ridges that creates a small opening between the front cover and the block. I am not sure for the purpose of the holes/ridges and wonder if they are for ventilation or oiling of the timing chain.
Thank you for your kind assistance.
Regards,
Ron H.
