Compression Ratio and Greasers
Hi folks,
Am going to show my ignorance.
My 21 Super 6 has nickel plated little greaser drums on all slow moving parts like kingpins and spring shackles. There are small spring loaded valves in the centre of these drums. What am I supposed to do with them? Do I try to squirt oil in each hole to fill the drum and hope that it somehow reaches the bearing surfaces, or is there meant to be a special grease gun for this job. So far I have been laboriously removing them one by one and inserting a modern grease nipple in order to be sure the parts are properly lubricated, and then screwing them back in because they look good.
Would also hope some kind person would let me know what the standard factory compression was for a Super 6, and what the compression ratio can be safely increased to, if at all, and if so the best way to go about it?
