OIL LEAK HUDSON SUPER 6
Karl and other Super6 Gurus,
I find my 21 Super 6 (engine no 528352) is using 1 pint of oil every 30 miles, with a clean exhaust. There is a lot of oil round the the flywheel pressed steel cover adjacent to the sump, and when on the rolling road checking the performace there was a lot of oil on the ground under that cover.
Karl suggested that the oil return pipe at the back of the sump, where it passes through the gasket may be blocked, but there is no oil return pipe on my engine or sump. I've removed the sump but cannot see any sign of an oil return pipe or hole at the rear main bearing cap which might feed oil back to the sump. Am loath to remove the rear main bearing cap without some advice on what I should be looking for, and how to go about removing and replacing the cap.
Any suggestions would be most welcome
Robert
