29 Hudson Flex Shaft Coupler

Looking at what's left it appears that a rubber hose - water type was used as a flexible coupler. I've got the original hardware for both sides of the coupler but the hose is beyond re-use.

Is the coupler anything special or is a hose the proper equipment.
