Re: Some 1923 questions

Hi, I have some questions and I hope someone with
cars of similar age can help out

1.  How does the tail light mount?  I
have a bracket stamped Hudson Essex type A Twinlite but can see no way that it
can be mounted on the frame.  Butler's book seems to show it atached to the
left hand gas tank mount but the picture is unclear.  My car has side mount
spares so no rear spare mounting bracket.

2.  I have a pair of sidelights which are
miniatures of the headlights.  I have seen these or similar mounted through
the cowl on 24-26 cars.  If 22-23 ever did have sidelights how
were they mounted?  I would like to have some so that I can have turn
signals.

3.  Was there anything to control/mount the
headlight wiring?  I assume it runs along the inside of the frame but was
the single wire hanging in the breeze between there and the back of the
headlight?

4.  Does anyone have a line on running board
molding?  It should have ridges on the top and plain on the leg.
Restoration Supply lists some brass stock but it is numbingly
expensive.

5.  Has anyone found or made up the rubber
stops for the door jambs?

I am still trying to find seat springs for a 23
Speedster.

That is about it for now but I am sure there will
be more questions

Thanks

Karl
