1917 Serial Numbers Whats correct?
Hello All, I am just attempting to verify the correct serial number for a 1917 Hudson 7 passenger touring car that I own. The brass rectangular tag that came with the car says that it is a Model H with a five digit number that starts with 110-- this five digit number is proceeded by the words " Car Number". The engine number is 15389 stamped on the left front engine mount horn facing from the driver's seat.I have been told that actually the engine number is the correct VIN number for the car and that the brass tag just identified various aspects of the model number but is NOT the VIN number. Anyone out there think they know for certain? Would greatly appreciate being set straight on this question. Thanks in advance! |
