Re: Bronze Fuel Bowl Casting
Hi, everyone. I have a 1928 Hudson with an incorrect Carter carb of unknown origin. “Baby Jane” is a very nice aluminum-bodied (Murphy) Model O but she’s a complete bear to start and run. I’ve looked for about a year but have yet to come up with a correct carb (you 1929 guys have seemed to scarf up all the good 1928 carbs).
So, you can stone me or cuss at me, but I need a good runner so here’s what I’m going to do. I’m tearing the whole original intake/heat riser setup off and having a simple intake fabricated. This will use a Stromberg 97 carb with an electric fuel pump. The car will start and run like a champ and I will keep the hood closed. Life’s too short.
Keep those old Hudsons on the road!
