Hi fellow Hudsonites,
I have a '29 Hudson SuperSix Biddle & Smart Victoria. It is in really nice shape, having been restored about 12 years ago. My problem is that the tail light bucket has some stress cracks in it, and I'm sure that, over time, they will only get worse. It is a chrome plated housing, with the "STOP" glass lens. I suspect the cracks are from hydrogen embrittlement from the chrome plating not having been baked properly. Do any of you have a good bucket that I could buy? I want to get a replacement before the original one breaks badly enough to let in water. Right now the cracks are up to 1 1/2" long from the edge inward, about 5 of them. Several are much shorter, and they're all supported by the lens ring, but I know they'll get worse with time.
Any leads you could give me would be much appreciated.
Hudsonly,
Bill Craig (scraig10@q.com)
