1924 Super six timing
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I know .....asked this before and after doing other work on the car I am back with my timing problem.
I am looking at page 94 of the manual were it shows the 3 different arrangments Hudson and Essex 4 and 6.
My actual chain measures 61 links. Maybe close to an Essex 6 in numbering.
The cam gear punch holes are at about the 10-11am position when n 1 valves are closed.
The crank gear is at the bottom or say 6 pm when the flywheel marks are showing against the pointer.
No way to get 18 links and in any case the chain seem short.
What am I missing?
