17SS Connecting Rods
Guys,
I finally put the 17SS engine back together after rebabitting and purchasing new pistons through EGGE Machine. The car was originally restored in the 1950's and used late 40's early 50's Packard eight pistons. When restarting the car a knock was heard. Upon inspection it was found the pistons were hitting the head. That problem was solved by milling 55 thousands off the top of the pistons, but now we find the connecting rods were bent and slightly twisted. Does anyone have extra rods or know where to obtain replacements. A matched set would of course be preffered but a couple to replace the worse ones would be helpful. I have two rods that appear to be the same size but they are about a pound lighter. I assume they might be for a 6-40.
