Carburetor Rebuild Kit

I'm going to rebuild the Marvel carb on my '29 Essex and I need some guidance. I tried the "Carburetor Shop" in Eldon, MO. and they want $250 just for the parts. I haven't taken the carb completely apart yet, but I don't see a lot that I couldn't make. I have a good cork float that I plan on coating so that the modern gas won't eat it away. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
