The door handles are screwed on to the lock housing
by a threaded collar.  You need a very thin 5/8"A.F. spanner, inserted
between the escutcheon and the handle and unscrew.  Be careful, these
collars are pot metal.  The seat adjusment does actually raise the seat
assembly as you screw it, as well as bringing it forward the angle of the seat
alters, and the rollers  sit on the steel insert. You are adjusting
primarily for leg length rather than torso height.

Subject: [HSS] Removing Door Handles [1
Attachment]

Here we go!  I need to get at the internals of
the door locks on the '29 Landau.  Removing the window winders is
straightforward, but the internal handles appear to made of pot metal and it
looks as though they've been pressed onto the shafts.  I sense potential
for disaster.  Is there a way of removing those
handles?

Front seat adjusment (bench
seat).   The little rollers under the rear of the seat run on
flat pieces of steel which are only fractionally proud of floor level - see
the pic attached.  For some reason these pieces of steel don't look
right.  They're only roughly secured by some modern screws.
As they're flat the it's only the front of the seat that elevates - due
to the hinge arrangement - as the seat moves forward, but logically you want
the rear to elevate too because you're adjusting for a smaller person.
What's the proper arrangement?

Thanks... Peter
