in Hudson 1916 - 1929





I made a hitch which pick up the rear bumper mount
holes on the rear crossmember.  With this setup and an A frame I towed my
23 Hudson speedster from Christchurch to New Plymouth in 1968.  I also
towed a 3 Litre Alvis from Auckland to New Plymouth, a 6 cylinder Citroen
from New Plymouth to Matamata.  My finest moment was towing a 3 litre
Bentley some 150 miles after it blew the camshaft drive on a rally.  This
particular Pom was always disparging about "Yank Tanks"  It warmed the
cockles of my heart to see him freezing in the rear view mirror.  There was
no room for him in the Hudson as it was full of kids and camping gear. 
After returning to Canada we did many long trips pulling a tent trailer with a
canoe on top of the 29.

I can't see 29 dimensions listed anywhere, so perhaps
someone with a Standard Sedan can do some measuring for
Bob.

 

Karl, for the rest of us, maybe you can tell us how
to fit a towbar?  There is a sort of vintage caravanning revival going on
in some parts of the world - maybe we should be part of
it!

Bob, 29 Hudsons pull trailers.  They do not
ride in them.

Hello Hudson Group Members,

        I have 
look in several books and can not find the demotions on a 1929 Hudson 
5 passenger touring sedan.

My car is not put together yet.   Still
restoring the car.   I have a 15 Hudson and they had this
information in

there parts and owner books.   I have not found
any thing on the 29.   I find wheel base, road clearance and

stuff for the engine.

    I would like some member that has a
finished car to give me the height ,width and length of the
car.

I may buy a enclosed trailer and I want to make sure if
the 29 fits inside.   Thanks for your help.
