Guy emailed me with what looks like a 42 Hudson Pickup SN 1246675

SN doesn't fit anything we can find. Anybody got any ideas as to what it is?

  • Is it a sedan conversion to pickup?

I think what Josh means, is that the serial number for any 1942 Hudson should begin with a "28", not a "12". If it starts with a "12" then it's a '41 Commodore Six that someone's converted to a pickup, and to which (apparently!) they've attached a '42 front clip.

any difference in '42 Numbers for PU's ? I remember there were 2 different pickup versions weren't there? Standard and Big Boy ? They were considered "commercial vehicles" as I recall.

In those days people didn't buy a pickup unless they had a practical reason to. No luxury, no DVD player. LOL Just farmers and construction people bought em.
