motor temp gauge
I'm new to this site, but it looks great. At present I have two questions concerning my 1928 Hudson super six landau.
1) The engine temp gauge was broken off at the engine block. Does anyone know where one can be located, or of a replacement that will work? The original read up to 212 degrees and had a white face. It was a 2" gauge under a rectangular bezel. The info on the gauge reads: 5341 N. G. & E. CO. LACROSSE WIS.
2) I'm getting gas leaking out the intake barrel of the carb when the engine has been run and shut down. When the car is not running I can let gas flow into the bowl and the float will shut off the gas flow and no leakage occurs...until the engine has run and been shut down. A fuel pump was added sometime in the past to replace the vacuum system, so I thought perhaps there was enough pressure to force gas past the float controlled needle....So I added a pressure control valve and set it at one pound...same problem continues. I have added a fuel filter prior to the pump and am thinking of adding another after the secondary fuel tank under the hood, as I "one time only" found some debris in the float bowl. (Marvel updraft carburetor).
Any suggestion or advise would be greatly appreciated:
