1929 Essex clutch oil
- IMG_20150817_074105.jpg
Hello to all.
Due to the failure of the number 6 big end bearing i have some how reasoned that i need to rebuild the whole drive train top to bottom and front to back (how does that evolve...!!). I have just about finished thank goodness. At some time someone has fitted a dry cluch which always shuddered dreadfully and so this is my oportunity to change it back to the original wet clutch. I now have all the parts to make this happen. Being in Australia makes access to Hudsonite a problem and so in searching the subject I have found conflicting information on what can be used as a substitute. Oil and kero or dextron? If oil and kero what ratio and if dextron which one? Or is there something else better. I want to do this right once. The cluch plate i have looks good though i do not have a go or no go value for cork thickness and i would like to be confident that i am installing a good plate. Your help would be much appeciated.
Regards.
Mike...
