I noticed the windshield R&L opening brackets are reversed closing down instead of up. Most I've seen close up.

I found the original print on eBay and scanned it at 600 dpi, which is the best I can do at home.  Considering the rotten light conditions its a pretty good photo.   Ive not seen another pic like this clearly not a publicity shot like so many of the others that are on eBay all the time.   But I can see that the image youve received isnt very good so Ive attached it this time, along with another of interest. 

I checked the paint specs again and sure enough, the flange (hub) was a different colour to the wheel (spokes and felloe).  The actual detachable rim doesnt get a mention, but Id guess black.  Initially the wheels were body colour and the hub was the belt colour, but later in production the hubs went to black.  My Landau is in the latter style and Im pretty sure the paints never been touched.

It would be easy enough to load the bumpers under the car to gain extra fore and aft shipping space.  Or if enough cars were going to the same location youd put them all (the bumpers) in a big crate.

bsp; They look great but theyre diabolical to keep clean.  For 1929 they were painted the same colour as the pin striping on the belt panel.  This is a detail that often escapes restorers.

I notice Geoff describes the car in the underground pic as a Town Sedan but I really believe its Standard Sedan.  Town Sedans had their front and rear door handles adjacent to the B (central) pillar.  But theres more to this car: the upper body is not the same colour as the lower body.  Geoff, is this a two-tone car?

Ive done a lot of research on another make of car and one thing stood out: no matter what the catalogues and specification sheets say there will A
LWAYS be one more examples that simply do not conform.  The reason is simple: in exchange for money, most manufacturers would give the customer something special.

Now to more important matters.  In the pic we have the answer to the eternal question regarding the front number/registration plate.  Clearly it was Hudsons intention that the plate should be ABOVE the headlamp cross-bar.

What an interesting picture! Of the cars we can see, most have wire wheels, rare today on Huds
on built cars as these all appear to be. The nearest car looks like it has a two colored wheel with the rim & spokes being darker than the hub. The bumpers are not yet fitted. Perhaps they were shipped separately and installed by the dealer? Why would they do this?



Is a higher quality version of the picture available? Are other pictures like it available? Where did it come from?
