Placement of 29 Sedan Gas Pedal Spring

Evening all,

I am refitting the driver foot pan. I originally gas pedal spring had a "make shift post" attachment point mounted under the most rear crankcase to block nut. This was made from a short brass tube with a washer on both ends mounted perpendicular to the engine.

I have not seen this anywhere in my picture collection so I believe there's another mount point out of sight.

Question, is the pedal return spring mounted on the drivers or pass side of the firewall and where is its anchor point?
