Front Suspension on 1947 Hudson Sedan

Is the stock front end suitable and strong enough to handle a SBC engine?  My thoughts are yes but unsure.  Thanks

No problem at all, a SBC weighs less than a Hudson mill. I have a friend that has a big block Chevy in his 47 Hudson pick up with stock front end

That was my thought as well.  I figured a SBC weighted less than original engine

They weigh considerably less especially the larger step-down blocks and hydro. You could put a big Chevy or Caddy motor and still be similar weight to stock Hudson mills.
